I am the resurrection, and the life

I am the resurrection, and the life (John 11:17-26) Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.   Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:   And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.   But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.   Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:   And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 』   Martha said, "I believe that if Je...

The old man must die

The old man must die   Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.   And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,   Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.   Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.   For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.   And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. (Luke 18: 28-34)   Jesus tells his disciples that he will die in suffering and be resurrec...

Dispensation of the hidden secret

Dispensation of the hidden secret   (Ephesians 3:8-11) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of   Christ ;And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by   Jesus   Christ :   To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,   According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in   Christ   Jesus   our Lord: When Jesus came into this world, his words were not about the world, but about the kingdom of God. However, most church people think of a lot of things as worldly things. 『 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 』 The word 『 For this cause 』 is connected with the work of Jesus Christ because Paul caused God to pr...

Whom say ye that I am?

Whom say ye that I am?   (Matthew 16:13-20) When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?   And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.   He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?   And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.   And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.   And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.   And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.   Then charged he his dis...

Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish

(Luke 13:1-5) There were present at that season some that told him of the Galil æ ans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.   And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galil æ ans were sinners above all the Galil æ ans, because they suffered such things?   I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.   Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?   I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.   There were two kinds of events of this type when Jesus was in this world. First, a man named Pilate killed a Galilean man and mixed his blood with a sacrifice. People asked Jesus about Pilate's wickedness and about those who had died unjustly by Pilate. But Jesus asked back about the dead Galilean, ``Suppose ye that these Galil æ ans were sinners above all the Galil æ ans, because they suff...

Deceitful people in the church

Deceitful people in the church   (Romans 16:17-18) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.   For they that are such serve not our Lord   Jesus   Christ , but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. The first part of the last chapter of Romans has a greeting that opens with Paul's warm, soft tone to Christians in Rome. However, in verse 17, Paul exhorts the Christians of the Roman Church with a strong and determined tone unlike before. 『 mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. ” If there are people who try to break up the community by creating disputes within the holy faith community, or doing things that hinder the brothers and sisters of the faith in their religious life, stay away from such people. Paul's exhortation explains why he says so...

Not as I will, but as thou wilt

Not as I will, but as thou wilt   (Matthew 26:36-46) Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.   And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.   Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.   And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.   And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?   Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.   He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. ...
