We have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14) 『 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 』 There must be redemption in order for us to receive forgiveness from God. Redemption is a deliverance from the power of darkness and a transfer into the kingdom of his beloved Son. This is what God does. The beginning of salvation is not to wash away dirt first, but to deliver us from the power of darkness. So salvation begins with the realization that we are bound by the powers of darkness. The Hebrew people could not come out from under Pharaoh. So they cried out to God. The Hebrew people's coming out of Pharaoh's dominion is an area they cannot do by their own efforts.
