We have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins

We have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins   (Colossians 1:13-14) 『   Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:   In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 』 There must be redemption in order for us to receive forgiveness from God. Redemption is a deliverance from the power of darkness and a transfer into the kingdom of his beloved Son. This is what God does. The beginning of salvation is not to wash away dirt first, but to deliver us from the power of darkness. So salvation begins with the realization that we are bound by the powers of darkness. The Hebrew people could not come out from under Pharaoh. So they cried out to God. The Hebrew people's coming out of Pharaoh's dominion is an area they cannot do by their own efforts. To be under the authority of Pharaoh is to be under the authority of darkness. It is in Canaan that God deliv...

Are you a servant of the law or a free man in Christ?

Are you a servant of the law or a free man in Christ?   Galatians 3:15-17 『 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to  Abraham  and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is  Christ .   And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in  Christ , the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 』 The truth of the gospel that sinful human beings are justified and saved through faith in Jesus Christ is the most important core of Christianity. Paul emphasizes in Galatians that the justification of sinners through faith in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, is the gift of God, not through human merit or effort for the truth of the gospel. Most people in this world have a ne...

Those I counted loss for Christ

(Philippians 3:7-9) 『 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for  Christ .   Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of  Christ Jesus  my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win  Christ ,   And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of  Christ , the righteousness which is of God by faith: 』 Looking only at 3:9, “ be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: ” People will truly be thought of salvation. It is easy to think that if you believe, you will be saved. However, 『 that which is through the faith of Christ 』 . The meaning of these words is that when a believer enters into Christ, it becomes the faith of Christ. Christ is the beli...

Christ Jesus Who gave himself a ransom for all

Christ Jesus Who gave himself a ransom for all   (1 Timothy 2:1-6) Iexhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;   For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.   For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.   For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man  Christ Jesus ;   Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Paul exhorts his spiritual son Timothy to have two faiths. First, he talked about prayer. Paul said that the object of prayer is everyone. And Paul explains why he should pray for everyone. Praying for all people is good and acceptable before God. This is because God wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. ...

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers   (Romans 13:1-7) 『 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.   Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:   For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.   Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.   For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute ...
