The oldself




『Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.』(Romans 6:6-7)

The oldself (soul) is an attribute that appears from the body. The oldself (soul) thinks as the master of the body. Even though there is a word of God's promise, the oldself does accoding to what he thinks. The oldself is the root of sin. The oldself is the mind of the greed that wants to be like God. So the Bible says that the oldself must die.

The Saint informs to God the death of the oldself through baptism. And Saint believe that when the oldself die, he revives with a spiritual body. Althought the saint lives in the world, but his status changes to the people of the kingdom of God. The flesh lives by the law of the world, but the mind lives by the law of the Spirit.

『For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.』(Romans 8:5-7)

The Saint believes that the oldself was dead in this world already. So the Saint believes to born again in the kingdom of God.
