Think not that I am come to destroy the law,
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven(Matthew 5: 17-20)
Everyone in the church thinks that they know the law. People know that the law is "to make us understand sin and to be under judgment." So they are trying to keep the law. However, they tend to be ignorant of the idea of the law. They don't know what the apostle Paul said, "Jesus abolished the law on the cross," and they don't know what Jesus meant to come to perfect the law, not to abolish it. The two words seem to conflict. It is very important to know the law.
When the
Israelites come out of Egypt and gather on Mount Sinai, they receive the law
from God. However, we find that the law is also found in Genesis 2: 7-17. To
understand the law, we must understand it with the contents of Genesis 2: 7-17.
"The law is an elementary teacher that leads us to Jesus Christ," he
says.
The law is
that they realize sin. The wages of sin is death. That is the judgment.
Galatians 3:19, Romans 5:20, and Romans 7:13 describe the law. The reason God
gave the law was because of the sins of the people. God gave the law for the
sins of the people. Without sin, there is no need for the law. In Galatians
3:22, the law is to keep everything under sin. What the law says is to shut
those mouths under the law and to be under judgment. Romans (3:19) helps those
who practice the law realize that they are under God's judgment. That is, there
is sin.
"The
purpose of God's giving the law to Israel" is to make the people of Israel
realize that they are all under sin and must be judged. People will be
disappointed when they realize that they must be judged for their sins.
However, God gave mercy and planted the promise that the people would be
forgiven through Jesus Christ. Therefore, the law does not simply obey or obey
any commandments, but humans are sinners and must die because they are sinners.
It means that if you believe it, you will be saved in the law. If you don't
know the meaning, you don't actually know the law.
God gave the
Israelites a law on Mount Sinai. When God gave the law, he gave the law,
"If you enter the land of Canaan, the Promised Land, you must live
according to this law." You gave the law, "You must live like this in
the land of Canaan." Summarizing how he was told to do it, do not sin, but
look at the salvation God has put in the law. It is to meet Jesus Christ. This
is the law. There is sin in you, but do not do it. Do not sin, but discover
Jesus Christ.
Adam and Eve
were kicked out of the Garden of Eden, but God did not specifically give Adam
and Eve the law. The meaning that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of a tree that
knows good and evil is that without God I can do good at my will. That was
Satan's idea, and she followed Satan's idea. By the way, when they got out of
the Garden of Eden and tried to do it themselves, they went to a situation of
destruction, as in Genesis 6.
When the
world is full of evil and people think of everything from birth, they become
evil people who think only of evil. God judged all humans except the eight Noah
families by the flood. God created this world to do for himself, and made
humans to do it for the members of God who left God and left to do good for
themselves. However, the result is that all humans except Noah's family are
evil. After judging human beings by the flood, God promised that the rainbow
covenant would never do anything that would wipe out all the life on earth again
with water. He promised that there would be no total sacrifice. And God chose
Israel.
God chose
Israel and did not let humans live as they wished. Because, if they let them
live at will, they will have the same result as the Flood. That is why God
gives Israel the land of Canaan, the shadow of the kingdom of God. He said that
you can do good with your own strength in the land of Canaan, the shadow of the
kingdom of God.
That is
Israel and the land of Canaan. The Israelites were to take the law in the land
of Canaan, the shadow of the kingdom of God, and work hard according to their
will. Having the Law in Canaan is a process that makes you realize that you
cannot do it yourself. The result of trying the law is that humans cannot do it
themselves. The law convicts sin, and the result is judgment. Just as Jesus
Christ died, we must admit that we are dead to sin and to the law.
The demand of
the law is death. Keeping the law is done in the land of Canaan. However, Moses
did not enter the land of Canaan. The Israelites received God's law and lived
hard to live according to the word of God, but they did not live a life of
righteousness. Because they did not realize that they were sinners who left
God. God's giving the Law to the Israelites made them realize that they were
sinful.
However, they
thought that they could do good without God, and that they would be righteous
if they kept the law well. God is realizing that the spirits of God who have
left God will come into this world with human flesh, and no matter how
struggling to obey God's law, they will eventually fall into sin.
Every time
the Israelites sinned, they had to realize that they could not escape the sin
even if they struggled and tried to escape it until they killed the beast. Its
main purpose is to realize that "I can't." If the Israelites raise
their hands to God and say that I cannot, they will perish. Israel was
eventually destroyed.
Israel lived
hard in the land of Canaan to fulfill their righteousness with the laws of God.
The result was a failure. The result was a failure. And God is asking all
humans to realize that all human beings cannot achieve righteousness apart from
God through Israel, a sample of all human beings.
The land of
Canaan is the shadow of the kingdom of God. God gave the world the land of
Canaan, the shadow of the kingdom of God, to Israel, and they had to live according
to God's laws. There is something that God has shown to all humans the shadow
of the kingdom of God outside the land of Canaan. It is the Garden of Eden. The
land of Canaan is the shadow of the kingdom of God, and the Garden of Eden is
likewise the shadow of the kingdom of God.
When the
people entered the land of Canaan, God gave the law (Torah), and God gave the
law to live according to the will of God in the Garden of Eden. That is,
"Eat the fruits of various trees." Sometimes the law is called a
forbidden order (forbidden order), but there are orders that must be made.
In the Garden
of Eden, Genesis 2:17 says, "Don't eat the fruit of a tree that God knows
good and evil." In Chapter 2:16, "You can eat the fruits of various
trees in the garden." A passage is a passage of a command, but it is
translated as if it is eaten or not. It must be eaten, and the fruit of the
tree that knows good and evil is a must not eat.
What must
they eat to live in the kingdom of God? When the Israelites try to live in the
land of Canaan as the kingdom of God, they must positively meet the promised
Christ. Adam and Eve must ultimately eat the fruit of the tree of life in the
Garden of Eden, and in order to meet the tree of life, they can only know by
eating all kinds of fruits without eating the tree of the tree that knows good
and evil. The law is to "do not sin, but meet the promised Jesus
Christ."
What God
teaches in the Garden of Eden is to eat the fruit of the tree of life. Just as
the Law was given to help them realize that it is important to meet Jesus
Christ in the land of Canaan, they have commanded and forbidden them to meet
the fruit of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden, and not to eat the fruit
of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The Bible
speaks through Jeremiah. Explain that a new covenant is established, which is
different from the law of the past and that they have failed to keep the law of
the past. The old covenant (the law) is a covenant engraved on a stone (as the
wife broke), and the new covenant (Jesus Christ) is inscribed in the heart.
With God, you don't need laws.
The phrase
"the law was given to Israel" presupposes that "Israel has no
God." "Carve in mind" means that God is with you, that the Holy
Spirit with Jesus Christ is with you, and that there is no need for the law. If
even one of the laws is followed and practiced, it means that I have no God,
and there is no God, so I am still in the dark. Because it is dark, it is to
realize through the law.
The Romans
clearly explains the difference between the law and the gospel. It cannot be
done with the law, but the flesh tries it through the law. However, it cannot
be done. In the eyes of God, they are doing what humans can never do. The law
is what I do. It seems to me that I am right, and I act accordingly. This is
the law.
It seems that
you can do what you think and do without God. However, the new covenant is that
humans cannot do it physically, but God will do it with God's power. It is not
what I do, but what God does. It is the Gospel through Jesus Christ that
believes in this.
To receive
the law means that God is not there, and that sinners have left God. If God is
in the heart, he becomes a being independent of the law. This is what Jeremiah
explains.
