Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ
(2 Thessalonians 2:13-14)『 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 』
Those who are chosen are first responded by being called to the gospel. Just being called is not all about being chosen. When the Hebrews cried out to God, God brought them out of Egypt. However, they crossed the Red Sea, but they had no faith in Canaan. Today, even though the people of the Church are called to the gospel, there are not many who are chosen because they do not repent. If you do not choose, "the sanctification of the Holy Spirit and the saving of the truth by faith" does not apply.
The Saints in Thessalonica Church were born again by the Holy Spirit. In 1 Peter 1:2『Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 』 Those who are chosen are "through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied." Those who are chosen here get two things. It is obedience and blood-sprinkling. The word blood sprinkles also appears in Hebrews. It is done when entering the sanctuary.
When the priest enters the tabernacle, he meets the bronze altar, where he pours blood (after avoiding the judgment), and after he pours blood, he sprinkles blood on the veil (born again). He enters the sanctuary after blooding the veil. Those who enter the sanctuary become elected. In 2 Peter 1:1-2『 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 』 Those who gain equally precious faith are the ones who overthrow the righteousness of Christ. Those who believe in Jesus are not justified, but those who are united with Christ. Those who do not repent do not receive “the same precious faith” from God. Faith received from God is the same faith received as the apostle Peter, and "the same precious faith" is given only to the elect.
The precious faith Peter received was not the same faith that followed Jesus for three years. He fled before Jesus died on the cross. However, after Jesus died, he was in regret and grief, but the resurrected Jesus came. All who do not repent will be like Peter who leave Jesus before the cross. Repentance is the union with Christ on the cross. We must realize that we must be crucified with Christ who died on the cross in regret and grief. If you don't get here, you're not repenting. Even if we decide to believe in Jesus, or say we have come to believe in Jesus through acceptance prayer, it means that if we repent and crucify the former old man and become the new man, we are chosen. The result will be life.
In Jude 1:3『 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 』 Here, it means that we must fight to keep our faith from God. Satan inspires guilt. The guilt will save the old man (guilt castle). If you do not remember the old man who died on the cross every day, you will fall. It is that if we do not fight ourselves day by day, we cannot be overcomers. Fighting is inevitable. Fighting requires training, and internal strength. The power must be to die every day. If not, it is wrong. If you do not realize through the light of God's Gospel, you will go the wrong way. We must repent and turn.
