Be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

Be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

(Galatians 5:1-2)『Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.』

Paul said. 『Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage』. The yoke of bondage is the law of Moses. In particular, circumcision is a typical example, and legalists spread like leaven that they must be circumcised.

Today, if you look at those who keep the law among the church people, there are two types. There are those who simply keep the law and those who are guided by the Holy Spirit and keep the law. So, they are arguing that keeping the law is not a problem because they keep the law under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They claim that the Holy Spirit protects "those who are guided by the Holy Spirit and keep the law." If they say this, they are really drunk. They are saying things that are not even in the Bible. In any case, those who try to keep the law are without the Holy Spirit.

Those who say that they must keep the law try to live according to the words of the Bible by examining whether they are sinning in the light of the Bible. So they claim to be not legalists themselves. For example, it is a question of whether it is natural to examine whether one's life deviated from God's will through the Ten Commandments. But God gave the law, especially the Ten Commandments, with the meaning of realizing sin and finding Jesus Christ, who still says that you must find sin in the Ten Commandments, so you become irrelevant to Christ.

For those who want to become righteous through the Ten Commandments, God rules with the law. If you break any of the laws, you will be judged by God. Those who try to keep the law are like promoting their own righteousness. The first commandment of the Ten Commandments is, "You shall have no gods before me." So, since those who are ignorant of the Bible abolished the law, can they not keep this commandment? Some think that God gave these commandments because the people of Israel did not know God.

So, through this law, they will come to know God, realize their sin, and find the Christ to come, repent and return. However, those who are led by the Holy Spirit become one with God and come to know God very well. It's not because it's prescribed by the law, but because the law of the Holy Spirit is written in our hearts, so we say that God is called Father and no other gods are called Father. That is, there is no need for a law. So, today, anyone who claims that the law is still necessary is ignorant of God.

The fourth rule of the Ten Commandments is “The Lord your God has commanded you to keep the sabbath day to be holy, as it has commanded you”. Since those who were ignorant of the Bible abolished the law, is it no longer necessary to keep the Sabbath? There are people who think that Jesus Christ is the Lord of rest. To keep the Sabbath is to look to Christ, believe and wait. However, Jesus Christ, the subject of rest, came into this world. Therefore, those who are in Christ are at rest. Those who are in Christ need not argue about keeping the Sabbath. Both the sabbatical year and the jubilee year are concepts of sabbatical. Those who say they are in Christ and keep doing these things are doing it without even knowing the meaning of rest.

In Jeremiah 31:33-34 『But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.』

These words were said to abolish the old covenant (the law) and to engrave the new covenant in our hearts. That is, once a believer enters into Jesus Christ, he becomes a child of God.“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts” means that all the sins of the world have been forgiven by Jesus Christ’s blood shed on the cross, so God will not accuse those who have entered into Christ with the law.

The Holy Spirit comes to those who are in Christ and destroys all things related to the law. Those who try to keep the commandments of the law cannot read the intentions of God without the commandments of the law, but those who are guided by the Holy Spirit already know the will of God. In order to understand all the will of God, we must understand the meaning of the entire word of the Bible. Those who keep the law do not even read the Bible properly, but are speaking according to their own thoughts.
