It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. That is, the spirit is dead. That is why Jesus is saying that we must live the spirit. A person's identity is the mind, not the body. In the heart, there are a heart that comes from the flesh and a heart that comes from the spirit. Romans 8:5 says, For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Those whose spirit is dead follow the body.

So what must we do to follow the Spirit? Romans 8:4 says, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The requirement of the law is what the law says in 8:3, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:That is why Jesus Christ died on the cross so that people could follow the Spirit and not the flesh. All who are in Christ become followers of the Spirit and not the flesh. To not follow the flesh is to become dead to the flesh.

In Romans 6:4, Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism is union with the death of Jesus Christ. So the dead are reborn to new life. Baptism is the ritual of entering and leaving the water. The fresh body dies and is reborn as a spirit body. In Romans 6:6, the fleshly body is expressed as the old man. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

The old man does not mean the flesh, but the sinful nature hidden in the flesh, that is, the greed to become like God. To be baptized is to be born again of water and the Holy Spirit. Baptism in the church today is an ordinance. However, there are those who accept it formally, but the Bible says that those who truly believe in dying and being reborn will receive the circumcision of their hearts. This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Being born again of water and the Spirit is the same concept as resurrection. In Romans 6:5, For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: do. In 1 Corinthians 15:44, It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. Even though there is a physical body, those who are born again cannot see or touch the spiritual body. When the physical body dies, he can realize the spirit body.

The physical body and the spiritual body are regarded as enemies of each other. When the physical body (the old man) dies, we receive new life (the spirit body), the spirit comes back to life, the physical body (the old man) lives, and the spirit dies. The fleshly mind springs up from the physical body (the old man), and the spiritual mind springs up from the spirit body. In Romans 8:7, Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So, it is not that the believer should make any effort to kill the physical body, but believe in the union with the death of Jesus Christ and always remember that he died with Jesus on the cross. It is to confess that the Apostle Paul died daily.

Those who are in Christ believe that they die and live with Christ. In Romans 8:9-10, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his .And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

God counts those who are in Christ dead to sin. Romans 6:7 says that the dead are set free from sin. If you do not become dead with Jesus Christ, your sins are still there. If he is dead, God no longer accuses him of sin. In Romans 8:1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The basis for condemning sin is the law. However, the law will no longer apply to the dead. Because he was born again by the Holy Spirit, he does not apply the provisions of the law. The rule of the law is the law of sin and death. In Romans 8:2, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

So, those who are in Christ, that is, those who died with Jesus Christ, are set free from all the sins of the world. God declares this. Galatians 3:26-27 says, For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Those born from heaven become children of God. So he became a person who had nothing to do with sin. In 1 John 3:9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed he remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In 1 John 5:18, We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

All the believers in the church will not believe these words. "Humans are such beings who are bound to sin every day, so why does he say that he does not sin?" people will ask. This is faith. Faith is not just believing in Jesus, but believing that you died with Jesus Christ and that you can be born again into a new life with Jesus. God sees this faith and acknowledges it as righteousness.

The people of the Old Testament tried to keep the law. But if they sin, sacrifice animals are offered to the priests of the temple. The priest imputed the sinner's sins to the animal, killed the animal, and sprinkled the blood on the altar to offer sacrifices to God. What is the relationship between a dead animal and a living sinner? Did the animal just take on the guilt and die?

A dead animal is a sinner. Although the sinner's body is alive, at the same time the animal dies, the sinner also dies and is reborn. Through this ceremony, the people should have realized that there was no way of salvation except for the sacrificial lamb, Jesus Christ. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and came out into the world, God promised the descendants of the woman. The promise of that seed is that of Jesus Christ on the cross. So, the sinner should have made a sacrifice while looking at the promise, but they offered only the sacrifice of animals. God does not accept such sacrifices. God does not accept the sacrifice of death without the seed of promise.

Thousands of people in the church today confess their sins every day and pray for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. Jesus tells sinners to die with him on the cross, but they want only their sins to be forgiven. To die with Jesus Christ means to deny oneself before the word of God and to die to the world. Those who believe in this must confess their sins again and stop receiving forgiveness for their sins. This is because the daily sacrifice was resolved at once through the death of Jesus on the cross. As with daily sacrifices, those who repent daily and want forgiveness for their sins do not believe in Jesus' death on the cross for their sins once and for all.

He said that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will judge sin. In the Old Testament, sin is breaking the law, but in the New Testament, it is not believing what Jesus Christ did. It is blasphemy to the Holy Spirit for those who believe that they have died in union with Jesus Christ and do not believe what Jesus accomplished. Jesus took to God all the past, present and future sins of the world for those who died with him. However, if you do not believe this, it is the same as in the past in the land of Canaan, all the Israelites except Joshua and Caleb wept, saying, "If you go into Canaan, you will die, believing the words of the ten spies." God said he would give him the promised land, but the people did not believe in God's words with a carnal heart.

Although God says that He will never accuse those who are in Christ again, people do not believe this with the heart of the flesh. They did not enter Canaan. Likewise, if the saints today do not believe in this, they cannot enter the kingdom of God. The dead are freed from sin.
