Those of earth and those of heaven
Those of earth and those of heaven
In Ecclesiastes 12:7, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as
it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.” This means that when a person dies, the
spirit goes to God, and the body returns to the dust. In other words, the
spirit is released from the prison called dust and returns to God. However, in
order for the spirit to return to the kingdom of God, he must wear holy
clothes. The holy garment is the same as the soul. In the world, the soul, a
living being, is like clothes contaminated with sin. We must change our clothes
into the clothes of Christ. In other words, the spirit must be changed into a
new soul body (clothes of Christ). So this changing of clothes is called
baptism.
And the LORD God formed man of the dust
of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath
of life;
and man became a living soul.(kjv)
In Genesis 6:6, “And it repented the LORD that he
had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” In Ba erets (
בָּאָ֑רֶץ), Ba(בָּ)
is a non-separable preposition and means on the ground. It means to lament and
worry that humans were created from the ground. It was a sorrow in God's heart
that he had imprisoned the spirit of his sons, the sinful angels, in the dust.
God regrets this. Even in this world, it would be painful for parents to have
their children commit a crime and turn themselves in to the police station and
then put them in jail. That is why God tells humans the way to return to God’s kingdom.
The flood means that all humans must die. The
Bible tells us that if a person dies by the flood (union of the cross) and
enters the ark (baptism of fire), he or she will be reborn with new life
(baptism of the Holy Spirit: resurrection) and receive salvation. Noah and his
family were also baptized by water (rain) from the sky and died. And because
they entered the dark ark and turned on the light, they were judged by fire.
They took off their previous clothes and put on the clothes of the ark (the
clothes of Christ). And when the door of the ark opens, they go out into new
life (resurrection). So, the soil tells us through Noah's flood that all humans
must die.
In
Ecclesiastes 3:20-21, “All(ben)
go unto one place(Makom); all are of the dust(Afar), and all turn to dust(Afar)
again. Who knoweth the spirit(ruach) of
man that goeth upward, and the spirit(ruach)
of the beast that goeth downward to the earth(Aretz)?
The origin of the word makom
is derived from kum (to arise, to achieve). When Jesus raised the daughter of
Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, from the dead, he said the word
Talithakum. Qum means rising from the dead. And Macomb means hometown. Since
soil is used as a material for both humans and animals, the flesh returns to
the soil. However, it means that the spirit goes to its hometown. The Hebrew
word translated soul, ruach, is spirit. The spirit of life goes upward, to its
hometown, the kingdom of God.
The Hebrew word ben means sons of God. The sons of God refer to angels
who sinned. This means that when the angels who sinned repent and return to
being the sons of God, they return to the kingdom of God, but those who did not
repent (represented as animals) go down (to Hades). Because the sinful angels
who were sons of God did not keep their positions, their spirits were trapped
in the dust and became humans. Those who repent are those who realize that they
have opposed God and turn back.
In 2 Corinthians 5:1-2, “For we know that if
our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God,
a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan,
earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:』
The earthly house of this tabernacle means the body. Paul is lamenting
about being in the earthly house of this tabernacle. Because what is in heaven
is eternal, the body, which is the earthly house, must fall. This means
realizing that people made of clay must die.
In 1 Corinthians
15:46-50, 『Howbeit
that was not first(Proton) which is spiritual, but that which is natural(Pushkikon);
and afterwards that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy;
the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also
that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of
the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.』
Proton means first
person. To-Pneumaticus is a spiritual person. Since there is an infinitive wu
before it, it means that the first person is not a spiritual person. It means
To Pushkikon (soulistic person). The next (Echeita: Adam, the second man) is a
spiritual man.
What is the
difference between a spiritual person and a soul person? A spirit person has a
body that lives forever (resurrection), and a soul person has a body that must
die. Those who believe in death and resurrection with Jesus Christ are
spiritual people. Of course, the current body is not taken into account. The
body is like a shell. So, a soulish being is a person who wears clothes
received from the flesh (clothes that are soiled), and a spiritual being is a
person who receives clothes received from heaven (clothes of Christ).
The soiled clothes
must be burned with fire (baptism of fire) and new clothes from heaven must be
put on (baptism of the Holy Spirit). So, a soulish person goes down to Hades
and receives fire baptism. However, those who received fire baptism while alive
(those who were crucified with Jesus) are considered by God to have received
fire baptism, and so they are clothed with the clothes of resurrection (the clothes
of Christ) from heaven.』
The first man, Adam, was said to be of the earth. Since we have a body
of sin, dirt symbolizes sin. Chapter 15 Verse 47『The first man is of the earth, earthy; The second man
is the Lord from heaven.』
Chapter 15 Verse 48 『As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy:
and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.』 Those who are joined to the dust (the first man Adam) belong to the
earth, so Those who are in the first man, Adam, take on the image of those who
belong to the earth.
The image of someone who belongs to the earth is the image of an idol. Idols
represent wanting to be like God (greed). But those who belong to heaven wear
the image of heaven. The image of heaven is the image of God (Christ). Those
who have Christ have taken on the image of heaven.
Chapter 15 Verse 50 『Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot
inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.”
Corruption is the physical body. Incorruption means resurrection. This means
that a body without Christ cannot have a resurrection body. In order to enter
Christ, one must believe that he died on the cross with Jesus.
