Question 59: What does it benefit you if you believe all this?

Answer: In Christ I am made righteous before God and an heir of eternal life.

First, we become free from sin. Yet, believers today seek forgiveness for their sins every day. They acknowledge that they are not free from the law.

Second, because the saints are guided by the Holy Spirit, they are justified by the Holy Spirit's assurance, and the Holy Spirit helps them not to fall into evil by His help and intercession.

Third, as citizens of the kingdom of God, we can eat the fruit of eternal life, Matna, from heaven. While people of this world are deeply concerned with perishable things, those with heavenly citizenship can eat the fruit of heavenly life through the Word.

Fourth, by receiving the light of the Holy Spirit, we can know that we are one with God in spirit. The Father, Christ, and the saints are united in the Holy Spirit.
