If you have been raised with Christ

If you have been raised with Christ   Colossians 3:1-4, “ If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 』 The Greek expression for “ made alive again ” is Ε ἰ ο ὖ ν συνηγέ ρθητε τ ῷ Χριστ ῷ . Synegerdete ( συνηγέ ρθητε ) means that one was spiritually dead but was made alive again. Synegerdete is a compound of syn and egerdete, meaning to rise (come alive) together. So when we express it in English, it is If ye then be risen with Christ(kjv), Since, then, you have been raised with Christ(niv). Grammatically, both Greek and English are perfect or past tense. The expression in Colossians 1:4 means that he has already been raised again. The expression “ resurrection ” , anastasis ( ἀ νά...

Have you come out with swords and clubs to capture me as against a robber?

Have you come out with swords and clubs to capture me as against a robber?   Matthew 26:55-56 『 In that same hour Jesus said to the multitudes, Are you coming out as against a thief with swords and staves to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you laid no hold on me. But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. 』 Jesus told the Jewish leaders, including the priests, that he was the Son of God and that the temple would be destroyed and that he would rebuild it in three days. According to the Bible, during the age of the law, the old temple (death on the cross) had to be destroyed and a new temple (resurrection) from heaven would be built. Jesus performed numerous miracles, healed the sick, freed them from sin, and raised the dead, which were clearly works that could only be done by God. The Jews confessed that Jesus was the Son of God. However, the Jewish leaders did ...

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them   John 20:21-23 “ Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. 』 Those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit are called saints. In other words, they are those who have been born again through water and the Holy Spirit. Water baptism symbolizes death to sin and death to the world. Therefore, just as God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, he raises saints through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We must know exactly whether the saint has received the power to forgive sins from Christ or is a person who teaches the principles and doctrines of forgiveness of sins. Mark 2:9-12 『 Whether is it easier to say, “ Sick of...

I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'   Matthew 26:31-32 Then Jesus said to them, 'This very night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.' Zechariah 13:7-9 "Thus says the LORD Almighty: 'Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man my fellow. Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, but I will stretch out my hand on the little ones. Two-thirds will perish from all the land,' says the LORD, 'but a third will be left there. I will bring that third through the fire and refine it as silver is refined and tested as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them; I will say, 'This is my people'; and they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'" Regarding God striking the shepherd, it shows that God stru...

I am come to send fire on the earth

I am come to send fire on the earth   Luke 12:49-50 『 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 』 In the Old Testament, when a sinner brought a sacrificial offering to the sanctuary to be forgiven of his sins, the sinner killed the sacrificial offering, the priest poured the blood on the altar, and burned the flesh on the altar. The baptism ritual includes water baptism, fire baptism, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. However, the ritual is performed in water. Although it is performed in water, fire baptism is also received. Water baptism symbolizes dying with Jesus who died on the cross for sin. Fire baptism symbolizes death to the body of sin. The body of sin is like a vessel that contains sin. Therefore, the body of sin and sin die. Sin is death, but there is no death. Water baptism symbolizes the judgment of Noah's flood, and fire baptism sy...
