The earth and the kingdom of God


 


The kingdom of God is the place where the people of God enter when the body dies. But we can meet the kingdom of God in a living state.『Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?』(1 Corinthians 3:16) This has two meanings.

The first, those who died on the cross with Jesus are born again with spiritual power through the power of the Holy Spirit. The spiritual body is called the kingdom of God. It can not be seen by the eyes of the physical body.

The second, Those who are reborn with a spiritual body are called saints. It is connected by the Holy Spirit between the Saints and the another Saint. So it is said that The power of the kingdom of God is revealed when the Saints gather together more than two people.『For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.』(Matthew 18:20) The power of kingdom of God is not a place, but a concept of the situation in which the Spirit works.

In the Old Testament times the kingdom of God in this land were the Garden of Eden and Canaan. But in the New Testament, Jesus Christ who died on the cross and the church. are the kingdom of God. The Saint that is reborn as a spiritual body is a church. The place where the Holy Spirit exists is the kingdom of God, and the saints are the churches.

Today, church building is a place where Saints gather. The church building is not a church, but a saint is a one. The power of the kingdom of God show to the situation that the Saints are gathered. We must live a life of death on the cross with Jesus in order to have a experience the kingdom of God.
