Covenant religion



 

Christian is the covenant religion. It is a promise between God and man. The covenant is maden with an agreement in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross.

Humans agree as follows: repent of leaving God for wanting to be like God and crucify the greed with Jesus. God agree as follow: accept those who repent and recognize as his people.

Man's duty is only to crucify greed. This is baptism. 『Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.』(Romans 6: 4) Thus, those who participate in the covenant are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. 『Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:』(Romans 6: 8)

The reborn body is different from the body received from parents. Although invisible to the saints, they believe in being born again. This is the faith in promises. So the Saints need patience to fight the greed of the world.

『Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.』    (James 5: 7-8)
