Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? 1 Corinthians 6:1-4: "Which of you, when he has a dispute with another, will bring it before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is to be judged by you, are you not worthy to judge even the smallest matters? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, then, matters of the world (biotica)? Why then do you appoint those who are despised in the church when there is a matter of the world (biotica)?" "Others" refers to unrighteous people within the church. The message is that when there is a dispute with the unrighteous, do not take it to court by filing an accusation, but resolve it before the saints. Biotica (βιωτικὰ) refers to worldly matters that are currently occurring. The meaning is that if the saints become perfect and will even judge angels, why would the saints not be able to resolve matters that are currently happening?...

I wrote to you, "Do not associate with sexually immoral people."

I wrote to you, "Do not associate with sexually immoral people." 1 Corinthians 5:9-11: "I wrote to you, 'Do not associate with sexually immoral people.' This does not mean that you should not associate at all with the sexually immoral, greedy, swindlers, or idolaters of this world. If you were to do so, you would have to go out of the world. But I have written to you now that if anyone who calls himself a brother is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, abusive, drunkard, or swindler, do not associate with him, nor eat with him." This means that if there is anyone in the church who acts with such greed, you should not associate with him. Those who practice greed within the church are the ones who disrupt the order of the church community. Those who claim to believe in the gospel of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ, yet are steeped in legalism, humanism (prosperity theology), and Gnosticism, are the ones committing spiritual adultery.
