For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

The Bible says in Luke (21: 20-24).『And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. 』

Everything written means the law (the law of the wrath of God). Luke said: The Israelites who failed to keep the law were destroyed by Jerusalem on the basis of the law. We must have a good understanding of the law. God gave the Law to Israel, and the Israelites had tried to keep it for more than 1400 years. And even today, some 2,000 years after Jesus came, the people of the nation of Israel do not know the Law. In general, people understand the law as much as "God keep it to humans." It is not wrong, but it must be clear that this law was given to Israel, not to the Gentiles. But the Gentiles would better understand it as "see and know how Israel did about the law."

To understand the law, we must not know who God gave it to or why. The purpose of the law is to make man aware of sin. Humans are sinners. Well, they do not know that they are sinners. So God gave the law. The Apostle Paul describes the law, which the Bible says in Romans (5:13). .『 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 』

Sin means leaving God. However, people do not know what has left God. "Leaving God" means to leave the kingdom of God and put on the flesh in the world. Born into this world is sin itself. In the first place, God gave the Law to Israel, which means that Israel is all sinners. Israel is a model of the world, meaning that all mankind are sinners. The people of the world are to see and learn about Israel.

Secondly, it means God gave the law to all people. God gave the law and said, "Keep it, be righteous." Good is only God. There is only one righteous God. God said in Deuteronomy (6: 1). "Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:“ This is the saying, "If you keep the law, I will give you the kingdom of God."

Why did God tell the Israelites to keep the law and become righteous? The reason is that the wicked angels who followed Satan left in the kingdom of God, `` Without God, they can be good like God. '' So God said: Do your own good, but come back, realizing that you can never achieve it.

Since Satan's followers believed Satan's words and followed Satan, they all became Satan's children. Satan's child means being a devil. Jesus says in John (8:44).

『Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 』

Jesus describes Satan and his followers as liars. Jesus speaks to the Pharisees, but speaks about Satan and the Devil in the hearts of the Pharisees.

To keep the law well is to leave God. To escape from this, we are not trying to keep the law, but entering Christ. So Jesus dies for the law instead. To keep the law well is to eat the fruit of the tree, knowing good and evil that Satan has tempted. Still, they think, "They can be as good as God." That is, they think that by doing the law they can achieve righteousness like God.

God's "keeping the law well" does not really mean being righteous. Through the law, we must realize that we are sinners who have left God and look to the Seed of Promise (Jesus Christ). It does not mean that "God keeps the law thoroughly with the Israelites, and God will bless and punish them if they do not." To keep the law, realize that I am a sinner, and go toward Jesus Christ, the Seed of Promise. Thus, the Bible (Galatians 3:23) says that the law is an elementary teacher who leads to Jesus Christ.

God's covenant is different. The covenant is the old covenant and the new covenant. The old covenant is a covenant in which God chose Israel and gave him the law. The law is God's old covenant. The old covenant may or may not be fulfilled. If the covenant is not fulfilled, the people die. The old covenant is a conditional covenant. If Israel cannot do it, then it is destruction.

 

The covenant in Jeremiah (34: 19-20) is the old covenant. In the past, Zedekiah, the king of the kingdom of Judah, enslaved his own people because of war with his neighbors. At that time, the kingdom of Judah was slaved to his own people and not given freedom for seven years, so he bought the wrath of God.

God let the servants release through the prophet Jeremiah, and King Zedekiah made a covenant before God. He took the calf, split it, and passed between them, making a covenant, saying, "I will be punished if I do not keep God's covenant." However, as time passed, they ignored all these things and made their own people their slaves again. God said, "You have broken my covenant."

In the past, the covenant made in Exodus is the old covenant, and the covenant made with Jesus Christ is the new covenant. The new covenant promised by God is perfect, but the old covenant depends on the outcome of man's actions. This is the law, the old covenant, `` If you keep the law, you will bless; if you do not keep it, you will curse. '' Before the land of Canaan, God gave the law to the people of Israel and said that if they keep the law, they will bless it. God told the people to enter the land of Canaan and keep the law well, that is, to make Canaan their land.

Canaan symbolizes the kingdom of God. However, if they fail to obey the law, God foretells them a great curse (Deuteronomy 28: 15-68). It was a day of punishment as a result of Israel's failure to keep the law, which is God's command. This is what Jesus said before the destruction of Israel (21: 20-24).

Even today, church people say they do not keep the law, but many churches do not forsake their legal minds. Being bound by a rule or strictly obeying the rules will save you. Even though God has not set rules, people are bound by the rules they have made, distorting them as if they were a process of salvation. To those who are legal, God will judge legally.
