Shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:21-24『And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 』
Originally, Adam and Eve were one. Before Eve was separated, Adam was neither male nor female, but Adama (human). Common people think that Adam was born as a man, and Eve, a woman, was separated from Adam, but before the separation, Adama (human) is a being who is completely united. After separation, Adama becomes a man and a woman. Therefore, Adama (human) created by God in the beginning is different from Adama (male) from whom Eve was separated. It has a spiritual meaning.
What does "Therefore" mean? Originally, they were one, so they had to rebuild one body. Adam, who became a man, is a symbol of Christ who entered the earth with sin. And women are spirits who have left God to try to achieve their own righteousness. This is also mentioned in Ephesians 5:31-32.『For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 』 Here, man is the relative expression of a woman. It means man, not human. The church is a wife. Christ is the husband. It means that Christ left God and came into the world in the flesh. So, it is the expression that the saint entering Christ is the wife of Christ. Adam is the image of the one who will come. It is Jesus Christ who will come. In Adam, all spirits enter this world, and the chosen spirits in the last Adam return to the kingdom of God. Therefore, the first human Adam was the Christ to give the body of sin, and the last Adam was the Christ to give the body of the spirit.
In Genesis 2:7, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 』The breath of life, meaning Leah (spirit) in Hebrew. When humans are born, the spirit enters the body, and when humans die, the spirit comes out. In Luke 8:54-55 there is a scene where Jesus saves the daughter of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, and there is a content where the spirit from the body returns to the body.
And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. 』 The spirit must wear something. The spirit wears the body of the flesh or the body of the spirit. When the spirit puts on the physical body, the spirit becomes dead in the spirit's position. In 1 Corinthians 15:44, "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 』. The spirit must wear clothes. However, if the spirit cannot wear clothes because humans die, the spirit wears the clothes of judgment. The apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:8-9『We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 』 “The spirit dies” means that the relationship with God is cut off. However, when the physical body dies and the spirit puts on the spirit body, the spirit comes to life. The death of the physical body while man is not dead means a spiritual state, and it means being united with Jesus Christ on the cross to become dead. In Romans 6:3, "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?"
The apostle Paul said, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 』The big secret means a huge secret. What great secret is the relationship between Christ and the church for those who attend church? It is not a secret, it is a story that everyone knows. But there is a big secret hidden in it. It means a great mystery between God and the angels in the kingdom of God. Angels are always one in God.
So, angels gain power from God, know God's will, and obey God's word. However, many angels have a desire to become like God without God. They thought they could become like God even if they left God. In Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4, it is expressed that God imprisoned these angels. "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."
This story is the case where Eve was deceived by a serpent in the Garden of Eden and wanted to become like God, so she ate the fruit of a tree that knew good and evil. The story of the Garden of Eden contains a big secret. In other words, it becomes a story about an angel who did not keep his position in the kingdom of God. God made the material world, put the spirit of an angel in the soil, and told them to achieve righteousness by themselves.
It is impossible for beings apart from God to achieve God's righteousness. God's will is that they realize that it is impossible for them to achieve righteousness on their own and to repent and return.
Humans born into the world have forgotten all of God. Although God made the covenant of salvation in Genesis 3:15, very few people believed in God's covenant. And all humans wanted to act like God. The behavior is self-centered. They tried to create their own kingdom and appeared to suppress others around their own thoughts. Cain killed his younger brother Abel, built the Tower of Babel, waged war, and pretended to be godlike. So God judged humans through Noah's ark. God shows that those who have left God have such judgment (second death).
The life of a couple is explained by the very relationship between God and the spirits. God is saying, "Realize that you are all who have left me." If we do not realize that we are apart from God, we cannot understand the ransom death of Jesus Christ on the cross. If we live without knowing what we repent of while living on this earth, we do not understand the will of God and find the way of salvation. If we say we believe in Jesus, but only think about the sins of the world, God will say, "I don't know you." The gospel is the word of salvation to the spirit. In John 6:63, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 』
Salvation comes only when you become one with God through the spirit. In Jesus Christ, the spirit of the saints becomes one with God. So, the spirit is hidden in God. For this to happen, the physical body (old man) must die with Jesus Christ. In Colossians 3:3, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. "
Being one with God through the Spirit is the mystery of Christ and the church. Church means the spirit of the saints. Those who have left God become one with God in Christ. The church is not a building, but a saint in Christ.
