Clay means sin and death
(11) Clay means sin and death
『And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 』(Genesis 2:7)
In the Bible, soil, clay or dust are represented by repentance, suffering, death, pit, and curse. Isaiah, and the Psalms express that human beings are imprisoned, the blind. The Bible says that man is a sinner from birth. The spirit is trapped in clay and was died. You must realize the secret before the creation in order to know why the spirit is trapped in clay.『And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.』(Jude 1:6) So human beings are trapped in the clay jail.『It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.』(John 6:63)
It is also linked with repentance and clay.『When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; 』(Esther 4:1), 『And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.』(Job 2:12), The meaning of clay can be understood as the concept of the heaven and the earth. The sky symbolizes freedom, but the earth can be thought of in the sense of limitation.
The seed in the clay dies, but the life in the seed goes up to the sky. Clay can be linked to the death. The spirit in clay means the spirit to be died. Living soul in clay can not be a spiritual being. Something needs to be done. God put Adam in the garden of Eden, and he became a spiritual being. The world and the garden of Eden represent the world and the kingdom of God. Adam, who was born into the world, was an existence that must be die. Adam in the garden of Eden has become such an eternal being because he ate the fruit of the tree of life.
