(Matthew 17:1-5)And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him

Jesus showed the three disciples a scene talking to Moses and Elijah on a mountain. When Jesus went to the area of Caesarea Philippi, when he asked his disciples, ``Who do people say I am?'', he replied, ``Some say Elijah, some say Moses has come again, and he is one of the prophets.'' He asked Peter, "Who do you think I am?" and Peter replied, "You are the Son of the living God." Jesus was born in the land of Israel as the Messiah. And through his countless miracles, Jesus showed his signs of the Messiah. But people are not thinking of Jesus as the Messiah.

The purpose of the Messiah's coming to this world is to suffer and die on the cross in order to save sinners, and then be raised in three days. But not to mention the Jews, and the disciples did not know. Even Peter said that such a thing should never happen to the Lord. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the in Matthew 16:21. third day.

The disciples did not believe that Jesus would be resurrected. They had little interest. That is why Jesus reveals the scene of resurrection. It is to introduce Moses and Elijah. Moses died, but no one found his body. Elijah was a prophet who went up to heaven without dying. Jesus prayed and he was transformed. The disciples first witnessed the transformation of Jesus. Change means to change into another being. The visible resurrection and invisible regeneration are like this.

In Luke 9:29-31, ``And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. Why did Jesus talk about death with Moses and Elijah? He shows that there is a resurrection. In John 10:17, Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. Jesus said, "Do not tell anyone what you have seen until the Son of man is raised from the dead." The target is the shadow of the true form. That is why don't talk until God's promises come true.

God's promise is that the Son of Man dies and is resurrected in three days. When Jesus told him to keep it secret, his disciples didn't know what he meant.

In Mark 9:10, "And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.". The disciples immediately said, "What then?" They want to testify of Jesus right away, but they will not pretend to be excited by the sense of superiority in front of other disciples at the sight they witnessed. It was because Elijah must come first. The last book of the Old Testament, Malachi 4:5, prophesied, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:".

The great and terrifying day is the day when the Messiah comes and offers judgment and salvation. God will send Elijah first before that day. The disciples had just seen Elijah's arrival with their eyes. So, although they are amazed at the mysterious sight, she wanted to testify that Elijah had come, and she wanted to do so even more because Moses was with her.

In the Gospel of Matthew, it is recorded five times what Jesus said not to speak. This is the fifth time that Jesus asked his disciples to come down from the mountain. He assured the realization of the promise that Jesus would be resurrected by showing in advance the appearance of Jesus after the resurrection to the disciples on the mountain. Israel at the time of Jesus was waiting for the Messiah to come. The conclusion of the Pentateuch, the most important Bible for the Jews, was that a prophet like Moses would come. The conclusion of Malachi, the last book of the Old Testament, was that Elijah would come first and know it before the prophet. For about four hundred years after Malachi's prophecy, God's revelation ceased.

Through the prophet Malachi, he foretold that Elijah would come first before Jesus Christ came. That is why John the Baptist (the spirit of Elijah) came and spoke to the people. Now Jesus Christ will come and judge him. He cried out to repent, but the king of Israel killed John the Baptist. The reason why Jesus appeared in Elijah is that when they remember what the prophet Malachi said, they realize that John the Baptist is Elijah's spirit. However, even though Jesus appeared in Moses and Elijah and were talking with Jesus, they did not realize this. The subject of the conversation is that Jesus will suffer and die, and then be resurrected in three days.

The only thing Jesus was worried about was that the Gospel was properly witnessed. In addition, the task is to let the whole world know only in the image of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection on the third day.
