He who believes in me will never thirst.

He who believes in me will never thirst.

(John 6:39-43)And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Those who saw the sign and followed Jesus finally experienced a wonderful sign. They believed that Jesus was a prophet like Moses predicted in Deuteronomy 18 and tried to make him their king. They believed that Jesus would bring about political emancipation, economic revival, and social justice. They believed that Jesus would make their dreams come true and that it was the answer to their prayers. But Jesus did not comply with their request.

Jesus, who rules the waves and walks on the water, did not reject their requests because he lacked power. It is not because we do not want to give freedom as a gift to man, to satisfy him, and to give him liberty. Because their thoughts were different from what Jesus thought. The Jews who followed Jesus and saw many signs only wanted the power that came from Jesus more than Jesus himself. They believed that if they made Jesus their king, their living would be better, they believed that pain and suffering would disappear, and they believed that any disease would be healed. But this kind of faith does not come from heaven. Such beliefs are nothing more than blind faith, which is no different from the idolatrous attitudes of pagans who seek to expand their wealth and prosperity through Jesus and ensure a prosperous life.

Then the disciples went down to the sea and crossed the sea in a boat to Capernaum, but it was already dark and Jesus had not yet come to them. A great wind blew and the waves rose.

Darkness still means that the disciples cannot break free from the web of the law. When the wind blows and makes waves, it is a sign of breaking away from the law and being led by the Holy Spirit. The same expression is used in Matthew 14:22-36. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were astonished and called it a ghost, and cried out in fear. Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water. The ship is a symbol of Christ. The ship symbolizes the ark. Since the ark is a sign of salvation, it symbolizes Jesus Christ. The sea here means the law. So, Jesus, who walked on the water, is the One who is above the law.

With the miracles of two fish and five barley loaves, the hungry people tried to make Jesus king. It was because they thought that if they made Jesus their king, they would solve the people's problems of living. Knowing their hearts, Jesus fled. They inquired of Jesus and followed him by boat to Capernaum. For these people, eating was a serious and real problem, so they approached Jesus with caution. However, Jesus was aware of their real problems and the intentions of their hearts.

Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate the loaves and were satisfied. Jesus performed many miracles. He raised the dead, healed the sick, and cast out demons. He raised the lame, fed the five thousand with two fish and five barley loaves and left twelve baskets for the hungry. He also walked on water, calming the storm and the wind.

Jesus had compassion on their situation and situation, and was full of compassion. Jesus performed miracles out of love and compassion to heal and set them free from their afflictions. However, if people do not look for the heavenly food for eternal life by seeing these miracles, they will eventually lose sight of the Lord while searching for things that perish in the world. The ultimate reason Jesus performed many miracles was to make it known that Jesus was the one sent by God. To those who live in fear and anxiety without knowing God and the gospel of the kingdom in their sins, Jesus announced that He had come to accomplish the will of God the Father. .

Jesus told the people who came to him that they came not because of a sign, but because of the real problem of eating the bread and being full. They came again hoping for signs and miracles, hoping that they would solve the problem of physical food not just once, but continuously. Jesus does not ignore the issue of food. His miracle was to give them food for their flesh. However, no matter how many miracles people experience, if they are only interested in earthly problems, they will never know that the Lord is the Messiah, the one sent by God, and the giver of eternal life. Jesus tells us not to seek the food that perishes for our flesh, but to work for the food that gives us eternal life.

Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life. This food will be given to you by the Son of Man, who is sealed by God the Father. At these words, the crowd asks Jesus again. They asked, What must we do to do the work of God? Jesus answered and said to them, "It is the work of God that you believe in him whom God has sent."

Jesus Christ is sent by God, and He alone can deliver our spirits from sin and reconcile us to God. To believe is not simply to believe in who Jesus is, but to become one with Jesus and enter into Christ. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.

Jesus tells the people that he is the bread of life that God his Father has given down from heaven, so that they may receive eternal life by believing in him. Everyone's body rots and is buried in the ground. However, it is God's will for the spirit to be saved and to have eternal life, and this is the purpose of Jesus' coming to this earth. God's will is that you believe in His Son and live forever. He says that to believe is to gain eternal life. To believe in the Son is to die with Jesus.
