Question 84. Will all men die?
Question 84. Will all men die?
Answer. Death is the wages of sin, and it is appointed for all men to
die once, because all have sinned.
Genesis
2:16-17 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the
garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou
shalt surely (mut) die (mut)." "Mut mut" means to die, to die.
The former death is connected to the first death, and the latter death is
connected to the second death.
In the word ‘die’, the first
death is the state in which the spirit of an evil angel is trapped in the body,
so humans are spiritually dead in their relationship with God. Being born into
this world is death from the perspective of the spirit. The second death is
that all humans oppose God, so they are subject to the second death after the
death of the body. It is the righteous judgment of God. Those who live in the
world must meet Christ, but those who do not are all beings who are judged in
this way.
In the Hebrew
Bible, it is written as "death and death." It seems that during the
translation process, it was translated as "surely" to emphasize the
fact that there are two deaths. Regarding the second death, in Revelation
20:14, "Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the
second death, the lake of fire." The second death is the judgment that
those who have not met Jesus Christ receive.
However, if we
meet and unite with Jesus Christ while we are alive, this is a blessing. To be
united with Jesus is to die with Jesus and to be resurrected with Him. We are
united with Jesus’ death before our physical body dies and are judged in advance. Then,
the saints advance to the resurrection of life. The saints receive the
resurrection life before their physical body dies and become those who realize
the kingdom of God.
In Revelation 20:6, it says, "Blessed and holy is he who has part
in the first resurrection. Over these the second death has no power, but they
will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand
years." The millennial kingdom refers to the Messianic kingdom
(restoration of Israel) and shows the kingdom of God on this earth. In other
words, the kingdom of God in the hearts of the saints becomes the millennial
kingdom. The millennial kingdom is also called the restoration of Eden, the
restoration of the image of God, the third heaven, and the temple from heaven.
