Answer: First, we must know God as Almighty and Supremely Good.

Repentance is not about confessing one's worldly sins, but rather "confessing that one has opposed God, turning away from oneself, believing that one's old self has been resurrected in union with Jesus Christ, who died on the cross with Jesus, and has risen again, and thus being born again as a new person and standing before God."

God desires and delights in seeing His saints become holy. For a saint to become holy is to become one with God in Christ. This brings glory to God.

John 17:21-23 “Father, may they all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. And the glory you gave me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one—I in them and you in me—that they may be brought to perfect unity, so that the world may know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
