The law will remain until the promised offspring comes.

The law will remain until the promised offspring comes.

Galatians 3:14-16 "This was so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, and that we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith. Brothers and sisters, I speak in human terms: that even a human covenant, once established, can neither nullify nor alter it. These promises were spoken to Abraham and his offspring. Yet, not referring to many, 'his offspring,' but referring to one, 'your offspring,' namely Christ."
"The blessing of Abraham extending to all nations" is accomplished in Jesus Christ, the seed of Abraham. This is receiving the Holy Spirit (resurrecting with Jesus) through faith in entering into Jesus Christ (dying with Jesus).

The Bible speaks of the importance of covenants through human examples. It shows that when people establish a covenant, they do not carelessly abrogate it but strictly observe it. Furthermore, the same applies to agreements or treaties concluded between businesses or nations. The reason Paul makes this point is that the covenant made with God is also like this.

Tospermati (τῷ σπέρματι) means the seed (of the promise). The seed is the seed of promise, referring to the offspring of the woman mentioned in Genesis 3:15. And the offspring refer to all spiritual Christians born into the world from the seed.

Therefore, the seed is Christ, and the descendants are those who are in Christ. By translating "seed" as "descendant," it is presumed that the translators held the understanding that one of Abraham's descendants was Jesus Christ. Translating it again, it states, "He spoke to Abraham. That promise was spoken to Christ, the seed; it is not the seeds (the seed of the man named Abraham and Christ, the seed of the promise), but only Christ as the seed of the promise."

The seed of Abraham refers to the descendants of faith coming from the father of faith. Physically, this includes Isaac, Jacob, and others; however, spiritually, it signifies the people of faith. The covenant refers to the covenant God made with Abraham, but it also signifies that He made a covenant with another seed in addition to that covenant.

Those who view things with carnal eyes believe that Jesus Christ came from the seed of Abraham. However, spiritually, the seed of Abraham and the seed of promise are of different dimensions. The seed of Abraham signifies the people of God, while the seed of promise is the seed that enables one to become the people of God.

Galatians 3:17-18: “I say this: that the law, which came into being four hundred and thirty years later, cannot nullify the covenant God established beforehand, nor can it make the promise void. If the inheritance were from the law, it would not be from the promise. But it was given to Abraham by God through the promise.”

The predetermined covenant refers to the covenant with Jesus Christ. God made a covenant with Abraham, promising to make the promised seed predetermined in advance and his descendants as numerous as the stars on the earth. This covenant cannot be abrogated by the law that came into effect 430 years later.

This clarifies that the coming of Jesus Christ into the world was not determined after the Law. The people of Israel believe that the covenant began with the Law. However, God made a covenant with Abraham prior to that. "God giving the Law to the people of Israel" was not intended to grant salvation through the Law, but rather to enable them to realize their sin through the Law and discover the Christ whom He had promised beforehand.

God promised a descendant of a woman in Genesis 3:15, but no one believed except Noah and his family of seven. Consequently, everyone died in the water. Then, God reminds them of this promise once again while establishing a covenant with Abraham.

And because the people of the world do not remember that promise, God chooses the nation of Israel as a model for all nations and reminds them of this promise again through the law.

The inheritance is becoming an heir to the Kingdom of God. What God promised is the promise of the seed, the descendant of the woman. Since this promise of the seed must be fulfilled, it is continued through Abraham. Therefore, a child was born from Abraham in a situation where it was utterly unbelievable. That child was Isaac.

Isaac symbolizes the spiritual Christ. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, yet a child was born by faith out of the impossible. Those who view with physical eyes look at physical lineage, but those with spiritual eyes see that the promise of the seed is fulfilled through God's chosen people.

What Paul intends to convey is that the Bible emphasizes that God's covenant is not fulfilled through the law given by God to the people of Israel, but through the covenant with Abraham made through the promise of the seed.

Galatians 3:19 “What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, given through angels by the hand of one Mediator, until the coming of the promised offspring.”

When Paul speaks about the promise of the seed through Abraham, legalistic Christians protest, asking, "Then why was the law given?"

Parabaseon (παραβάσεων) means to deviate. It signifies that deviating from God is sin. In other words, it is sin to turn away from God in the desire to become like Him. The law serves to make us realize sin, yet it is impossible for sinners to keep it. Therefore, since Jesus Christ died for the law on the cross, those who are in Christ are freed from the regulation of the law as a mandatory clause, and instead view the law through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Keeping the law means acting bound by the regulations of the statutes, regardless of the meaning of its content. However, if you are guided by the Holy Spirit, you realize God's love within the law.
You are all those who have forsaken Me; realize your sin, awaken spiritually in Christ, and return to Me, and awaken the dead spirits of others as well, so that they may pass through Christ and return to Me.

"It was bestowed through angels by the hand of a Mediator." This depicts Moses receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai through an angel, God's representative. The Law lasts until the Seed of Promise comes.
