The sacrifice and the cross
The sacrifice
of the Old Testament was the thing to kill the beast without blemishes devour
instead of the sinner. In the days of the Old Testament priests offer
sacrifices. The Old Testament sacraments were given to God continually and
repeatedly to eliminate sin.
The cross of the
New Testament era was a sacrifice to redeem all sinner for the repentant only
one time. Redemption is that God pay a price and buy a sinner for Satan.
Redemption is that God pays to Satan the price of Jesus' blood and buy the
repentant. The Old Testament sacrifice is for forgiveness of sins, but the New
Testament cross is a shedding of blood to buy the repentant. So God cleanses
the sins of those who belong to him.
『Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest
entereth into the holy place every year with blood
of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation
of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away
sin by the sacrifice of himself.』(Hebrews 9:25-26)
