Question 26: Do you
exclude other creatures from the words "heaven and earth"?
Answer: No. Other
creatures are also included in these two words, for all creatures belong either
to heaven or to earth.
Heaven represents the Kingdom of God, and the earth represents the
material world. The Kingdom of God is a spiritual world where God is the
master, and in the Kingdom of God, angels exist as spiritual creatures.
The material
world is where creatures made of matter exist, such as humans and animals. Humans
are beings who combine spirit and body.
Although God is also
the master of the material world, for a period from creation to the crucifixion
and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God permitted Satan to rule over it.
Therefore, Satan and his angels exist within the material world. This means
they do not exist materially, but rather spiritually, ruling over the spirits
within the body.
