Question 32: What do you mean when you call Him "Jesus"?

Question 32: What do you mean when you call Him "Jesus"?

Answer: It means Savior. This is the name given to Him by an angel at God's command.

Acts 18:4-5 “Every Sabbath Paul reasoned in the synagogue and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was held fast to the word and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.”
Regarding the statement that Jesus is Christ, it means that Jesus is the name of Jehovah, and Jehovah became Christ. This was planned before the creation of the world, and it was caused by the sin of the angels. It means that all spirits born as humans on earth are God's people. However, they neither recognize God as King nor seek to know Him. Matthew 1:21, "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’”

Regarding God's identity (Yahweh), the Bible says, "Haya Asher Haya." This means that the invisible God has become visible. The invisible God who has appeared to the world is Jesus Christ.

"In the name of the Son." The Son's name is Jesus. He is the one who died on the cross and rose again. Those who do not believe in the present resurrection do not have the name of the resurrected Jesus, but baptize only in the name of Jesus who died on the cross, and thus their baptism is not complete.

"In the name of the Holy Spirit" The Holy Spirit is called spirit, ruach in Hebrew and pneuma in Greek. John 14:16 "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you."

Therefore, the name of the Holy Spirit is none other than Jesus Christ.

The name of the Father is Jesus Christ, the name of the Son is Jesus Christ, and the name of the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus Christ contains the meaning of Jesus who died on the cross and Jesus who was resurrected.
Therefore, baptism is believing that one died in union with Jesus who died on the cross and was resurrected with Jesus who was resurrected. This is the gospel, and this is salvation.
